New Contemporary Paintings
Recently I have been working on some abstract works. My recent works are built up in layers with scumbling and scraping. I apply paint with brushes, rollers, and palette knives. Some sections are scraped away to reveal previous layers alluding to a history or passage of time. The ideas of surface texture, interlocking forms, objects floating, frontal surfaces versus spatial depth and transparency are some of the issues I have been exploring with these new paintings. Included in this post are some of my recent abstract paintings.
